Learn City is a game with customizable multiple-choice test components and learning components. If you are a parent, teacher, or home-school educator, you can modify the learning and the testing in the game according to your needs. The multiple choice testing is modified by editing an XML file and replacing the default questions with your own questions. You also provide the correct answers, as well as "fake" answers. If you are interested in testing a (free) customized copy Learn City in your environment, let us know. This process does require that your a capable with Notepad, and that you have access to an HTML editor such as Front Page or Dreamweaver. You will also need the ability to create a folder called "LearnCity" on your C: drive. The "game" portion of Learn City takes place in a futuristic city where invaders are attempting to destroy buildings. If you fly your ship too close to the invaders, they will damage or destroy your ship. If you stay away from them, they will vaporize your city. You must defend your city by shooting them out of the sky, but to do that you will at some point need to enter the testing chamber and take the multiple-choice test. The higher your score, the more repairs are effected to your ship's hull, and the more power is charged into your laser cannon. If you are successful in eliminating all four invaders, you make it to level 2. Level 2 is a little harder, and level 3 is the final and most intense level. Each level has it's own multiple-choice test, and can have it's own learning content as well.
